For children with physical disabilities Home Independence Services can help create an accessible home environment through minor alterations or major adaptations to the existing home. This could be for all aspects of a child’s daily activity, including play, washing, toileting, or general mobility around the home.

There also may be a requirement for extra space for therapy provision or storage of equipment and aids.

Parents often know what changes to the home will help their child. If required, our Occupational Therapist is available to work with you and provide advice about your child’s existing and longer term needs, whilst considering the needs of the whole family too.

“We understand the importance of your child having full access to suitable play and work areas at home. This may involve improving wheelchair access with space creating environments and adjustable height workstations.”
